Down with the sickness

Korea has lots of quirks and interesting ways about it but one of the things I will never get use to is it's idea of sickness.
Here in Korea they will jump on you if they think you are sick. They will drive you to the hospital and force you to see a doctor for a sniffle but at the same time they will demand you come to school if you are dying.
The teachers here are always so caring and sympathetic but their diligent ways mean they don't think takng time off is benificial. In a weird way I can completly see their point.
Coming to school when you don't feel well is horrible but it does make you feel you've achieved something when you are done.

To combat the crazy quirk of working when you feel sick Korea does have one fantastic relatiation. The nurses office. Its an onsite doctors that not only talks to you but provides you with all kinds of medicine. There isn't any difference between a GP in the uk and a nurse here.
My nurse has saved me!

They even let you nap there. Not for long but some days its all you need.
Today has been one of those days. I have caught a stinking cold and I have been trying to work my way through the 98% humidity, bored lower level students and sickness. Unfortunatly there are so many ill students that i'm unable to nap today but its a great option when you are in need.

So today is a 'Eye of the Tiger' kind of day (and a day for hugs !)
